Interiors :: Colleen Locke's Nashville Home

I recently stumbled across Interior Designer Colleen Locke's Nashville home in domino, and let's just say it was love at first sight.  The combination of great architecture, light and airy spaces, pops of gold, mixture of traditional pieces and rustic antiques, and a just a dash of modernity is spot-on.  While I love every room...I'd have to say the kitchen and bedroom are my favorite.  Can you even imagine cooking dinner every night on that gorgeous range then drifting to sleep under that beautiful chandelier?  What a dream!

Travel :: Capri, Italy

Ever since our trip to the beautiful Amalfi Coast two years ago I have been dying to go back.  There are some places you visit, love, and check off the list...and there are others that you know you will return to for the rest of your life.  For me, one of those places is the Amalfi Coast.  We stayed in Positano for five days and one of which took a day trip to Capri.  The mythical island was even more stunning than I could have imagined, and our one takeaway from the day is that we just HAVE to go back!  Next time however, I'd like to stay in Capri for at least 3-4 days so we could enjoy it's luxurious hotels, stunning sunsets, top-notch shopping, and fine restaurants.

While summer has just officially started {YIPPIE!!!}, summer sales are already in full swing!  If you have any vacations planned over the next few months now is a great time to pick up some warm weather pieces at a steal.  I personally know that I will be purchasing the majority of my Thailand wardrobe over the next few months...because even though we don't leave until February the selection will be limited and prices will be sky high {thanks to "resort" season}.  I'm especially loving this beach towel, these chambray shorts, this tote, and this easy breezy dress.  Be sure to stop by JCrew and Shopbop, both of which are offering additional discounts on their already marked down items this week.  Happy shopping!

Travel :: Cabochon Hotel & Residence, Bangkok

Yesterday while surfing on Mr. and Mrs. Smith, a site specializing in hand-picked luxury & boutique hotels, I noticed that the hotel we were dying to stay at in Bangkok {but had been sold out for months} showed availability!  I quickly called Ryan, cancelled our existing reservation, and booked four nights at the beautiful Cabochon Hotel.

This eight-room boutique hotel, housed in a French Colonial building, was designed to "recreate the Shanghai chic of the 1920s for which that city reigned supreme in the Orient and was also famous for its modernity and aesthetics after the Parisian and Viennese styles."  The hotel {which looks like it could have come out of a Restoration Hardware catalog} is decorated with antique typewriters, prints, telephones, and model planes, and houses a highly-rated Thai-Laos fusion restaurant.  Rooms feature simple white Belgian linens, elegant four-poster beds, and balconies overlooking the tropical courtyard.  Plus, a rooftop pool offers the perfect place for an evening swim.  I can't wait!

Art :: Teil Duncan's Studio

I first came across artist Teil Duncan's work a couple of months ago in this Glitter Guide feature, and absolutely fell in love with her colorful, feminine, and summery aesthetic.  Isn't her pint-sized studio just packed to the brim with gorgeousness?  I'd love to add a few of her pieces to our gallery wall.  Shop her work here!

Travel :: Pimalai Resort & Spa, Thailand

When Bri of DesignLoveFest posted about her Thailand trip, I eagerly read through her posts and comments time and time again.  The major takeaway I had from doing this was that we need to visit Koh Lanta.  Many explain the island to be what Ko Samui was 20 years ago...before it became covered with hotels, American chains {McDonalds!!}, and tourists galore.  We were looking for something quiet, tropical, and peaceful with just the right amount of seclusion.  After doing some research we decided that the Pimalai Resort & Spa fit the bill to perfection.  It is on what many say is the most beautiful beach in Koh Lanta.  It is set in 100 acres of lush tropical gardens and while it has four different restaurants on the property it also is within walking distance of several beach bars & restaurants to allow us easy access to cheap and authentic Thai food.

On days we want to be active, the hotel has it's own Dive Shop on property if we want to visit some of neighboring Koh Rok's famous dive sites.  It offers complimentary sail boats and kayaks.  We can rent a car or hire a driver through the hotel and spend the day exploring the island of Koh Lanta.  We can go on a sunset cruise with canapés and wine.  Or, if we want to do nothing we can relax on the golden beach or in one of the hotel's infinity pools.  The beautiful spa is personally high on my list, and I definitely think we are going to take a cooking class.  All in all it looks like five days in heaven and I can't wait to visit!
